We scoop the award for Best Event at Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards!

Thanks to all the Download fans who voted for us – this one is extra special…

We left Donington this morning (Monday) on a massive high from an incredible weekend of rock at Download. But the fun wasn’t about to end there, as we were whisked down to London for this year’s Metal Hammer Golden Gods Awards.

Download was once again up for the Best Event award, a gong we picked up last year the day after the 2009 festival.

And you wouldn’t Adam and Eve it Download fans, because we’ve only gone and won the ruddy thing again in 2010!

The award is extra special to us as it is voted for by you, the fans, who make Download so special. So thank you to each and every one of you who showed your support.

On the night, Download band booker Andy Copping accepted the award.

After collecting it, Andy threw the award out to the crowd, and it was caught by one of our Download fans who had just got back from the Festival after 3 days of rocking out. He’d also celebrated his birthday during Download.

We dragged him out of the crowd and got his picture taken with Andy and Joe Elliott from Def Leppard – that’s them all in the picture above!

Thanks to everyone who voted for Download this year. Your continued support is fan-bloody-tastic.
