Megadeth were formed in 1983, following singer Dave Mustaine’s departure from Metallica. They have since released 12 studio albums, 6 live albums along with 26 singles.
The band rose to fame in the 80s but went through numerous line-up changes. With a stable line-up now established they released their album Endgame in September 2009 and embarked on a US tour. Their first single from the album Head Crusher was nominated for a Grammy earlier in 2010.
This will be the band’s fourth time at Donington.
The Download Festival is the UK’s premier Rock Festival. A mammoth 5 day rock event, based at the spiritual home of rock - Donington Park.
