GENERAL NOTES
All disabled customers are welcome at Download, but as it is a greenfield site there are steep stony hilly sections of the site, meaning that sometimes access across the site is not that easy. Stewards however, will be around to assist.Live Nation provide a number of facilities in the arena and campsite to accommodate disabled customer's needs, please see the other headings on the left. Not all disabled customer's need use of these facilities but we will provide access to whatever is needed and/or a free carer ticket to ensure your stay is comfortable and most of all enjoyable.
Should you have any enquiries regarding the access and facilities at the festival, please call the disabled access ticket line on 020 7195 2133 or email access@downloadfestival.co.uk - Please do not call this number with general festival enquiries as we will be unable to help.
BOOKING TICKETS
Live Nation manage all disabled customer ticket sales in-house.
We have a Disabled Customers hotline number that patrons can call to book tickets - It is 020 7195 2133. N.B. This number is operational Monday to Friday, 10am to 6pm only. Please leave a message should nobody be available and we will call you back.
Every customer that wishes to use the facilities or bring a carer with them will be required to send in documentation supporting their request. This is to confirm their eligibility and to ensure the support facilities we offer are not being abused.
The most common documentation used for this is a copy of a customer's current DLA award letter. Not all customers in receipt of DLA will need use of the facilities and/or a carer and we will discuss this during the booking process.
Should this not be available for any reason, we would request a letter from their doctor detailing their recommendation for a carer and/or access to the facilities.
ARENA FACILITIES
Access to the arena from the car park and campsite is via a tarmac road. Track will be laid from the disabled customer entrance all the way to the main stage viewing platform, though we are unable to extend this to the 2nd and 3rd stage platforms for health and safety reasons.Viewing platforms are available at the main, 2nd and 3rd stages only and have a strict one plus one policy (disabled customer + their carer). Non-disabled customers may be asked to leave the platform when it is busy to avoid overcrowding and we ask all customers to be considerate of others needs.
We will provide access to the viewing platforms for all disabled customers that need use of this facility. This includes, though not exclusively, wheelchair users, customers who are unable to stand for long periods and customers unable to be in large crowds.
There are accessible toilets located in most toilet blocks on the site, and specifically by the viewing platforms. When the site layout is confirmed, we shall post the exact locations of all disabled customer toilets here.
CAMPSITE FACILITIES
The disabled customer campsite is available to customers who are unable to camp in the standard campsites or who need access to the specialist facilities we provide.
You are welcome to camp with your friends, though I’m afraid we must limit this due to restrictions on space. In addition to the disabled customer and their carer, we will permit three more friends in your group. Please ensure you make us aware should you wish to camp with your friends so they are provided with the appropriate wristbands on arrival. Failure to notify us of this may result in us being unable to accommodate your friends on the day.
The disabled customer campsite is much nearer to the festival arena (c0.5 miles to the main stage viewing platform). The campsite is more spacious and has track laid throughout to improve accessibility for wheelchair users and customers with mobility disabilities.
Accessible showers and toilets are provided, along with a secure fridge for any medication that may need to be kept cold. Charging facilities are provided for electric wheelchairs or scooters, please inform us prior to arrival should you need this facility.
Motorhomes and caravans may be taken in to the disabled campsite at no extra charge. Cars can also be parked next to tents if required, though we are unable to offer this to everyone due to restrictions on space. Any cars moved from the campsite can be parked in the disabled customer car park.
PARKING
The disabled customer car park location is yet to be confirmed. This facility will be free on production on an official disability badge.CONTACT US
